🏆 Carrick Davins Are U15 Féile na nGael Champions 🏆

Words can barely describe what this group of young men has achieved. Not just for themselves, but for the entire club. What they’ve done over the past two days is nothing short of remarkable.

They stood tall, they stood together, and they delivered something truly special.

It all began with an unbelievably competitive opener against Durlas Óg, a game that swung back and forth before the Davins edged it by the narrowest of margins. No rest followed. They had to sit and watch a powerful Newport side run up a big score, fully knowing they'd have to face them later that same day.

And they did. With no fear and no excuses, the boys went to battle. They worked like dogs, threw everything at Newport, and limited them to a 7-point win. An achievement in itself, considering the context.

After a short night’s rest, they regrouped at 8:00am to head this morning to head to Dr Morris Park where they faced Emly/Solohead in the semi-final. It was an absolute war. Down by three at half-time, our lads showed heart beyond their years.

They worked like fearless dogs, throwing themselves into every tackle, chasing every ball, and slowly but surely dragged themselves back into the game. Score by score, hit by hit, they clawed it level by full-time.

Then came extra-time. And with it, a whole new test.

At that stage, legs were heavy, but spirits were burning.
What stood out were the moments before the restart. Lads aged 11 to 15 standing shoulder to shoulder, saying:
"We have to work harder."
"You're flying, keep going."
"We're not bet yet."

No panic. No drama. Just belief.
And when the ball was thrown in again, they exploded.

The work rate somehow lifted again.
Every one of them pressed harder, chased longer, hit sharper.
They swarmed every Emly/Solohead attack, turning over ball after ball, breaking lines, finding scores.
It wasn’t luck. It wasn’t chaos. It was fierce, committed, organised hurling, driven by a refusal to be beaten.

They won extra-time by six points. And they earned every single one.

There was still no celebration. They walked back to the dressing room. Shoulders back, chest out. The focus immediately turned to recovery.
Fluids. Stretching. Energy.
(Some went a bit overboard on the jaffa cakes and jellies… but we’ll allow that.)

Then the word came in. Final vs Newport. Newport!

The atmosphere shifted.
There was silence in the dressing room. Not nerves, but purpose.

Then the mentors spoke.
They didn’t talk tactics. They spoke from the heart.
About what the boys had already overcome.
About how every single one of them had been tested, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every single one answered the call.
They spoke about pride, about effort, about representing something bigger than themselves.

And when they were done, there was no noise.

The players looked around the dressing room at one another. Subtle nods of intent. A motivational pat on the back. A dig in the chest.
They knew the mountain that lay ahead.
And they dug in their heels and said,

"Let’s go."

From the throw-in, the Davins exploded into life.
They were ruthless in attack! Clinical, confident, and composed.
In defence, they were disciplined, showing controlled aggression and calm under pressure.
Every ball was contested. Every break was chased. Every score was earned.

They went in at half-time a point up. The message was unanimous.

"We won’t be bet today."

The second half was a storm of effort and heart.
They didn’t run. They sprinted. They didn’t jump. They leaped.
Every tackle was fierce. Every pass had purpose. Every man gave everything he had and more.
They stayed composed, executed their game plan, and never once backed down.

These boys never knelt.

The final whistle finally blew. Carrick Davins U15 Tipperary Coiste na nÓg Féile na nGael Champions 2025.

And when you stand back and look at what they went through…
Beating Durlas by a point.
Having to sit there and watch Newport run up a huge score against Durlas.
Losing to Newport themselves.
Then going through extra-time to beat Emly/Solohead.
And still having to face Newport in the final. And beat them?

That’s not just effort. That’s not just skill.
That’s bottle.
And this team has it in abundance.

At the heart of it all were these warriors:

Michael Keyes
Cian Heartery
Jack Redmond
Riley Baron
Patrick Corcoran
Tom Tobin
Destiny Ukaegbu
Alex Stuart
Dylan Prendergast
Riley Rockett
Jamie O’Shea
Emmanuel Adesoye
Brody Butler
And captain Billy Murphy

Ye stood up to be counted. And my God, ye showed us exactly what it means to be a Davin.

We are absolutely bursting with pride.
This wasn’t just a win, this was a message.
A day this club will remember for a long, long time.

Na Daimhín Abú! 🔴⚪
